It’s Show time!
The Wine & Foodshows are underway.
We've really enjoyed meeting so many people in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland while attending these shows in the past. Last year we did not attend the Wellington or Christchurch show, but were certainly at the Royal Show in Christchurch. A new show for us was the Christmas Gift Extravaganza in Rotorua, and this year we will be at the Home & Leisure Show. We also attended the NZ National Fieldays, the Waikato Home & Garden Show & the Rotorua Gift Show.
At these shows you can always sample the range of products and take advantage of ‘Show Specials’, so come along & have some tasting fun.

We will also be at the .....
NZ National Fieldays

Teacher's Pot (cooking, of course!)– Allison Williams.
Travelling and working with children sound like the ambitions of so many beauty queens. Our resident ‘Miss Lime’ has travelled widely and returned to be a full time secondary school teacher. We’ve yet to uncover the inevitable beauty pageant scandals but watch this space!
Having swatted the travel bug, Allison settled into work at Taradale High School and the kitchen at St Andrews Limes. Three of our best selling products were Allison’s creations - Lime & Mustard Seed Dressing, Lime & Chilli Plash and Lime & Lemon grass Drizzle.
After spending her youth as a globe trotting gym-junky, Allison has seen the light and currently lists her interests as food and movies - sounds much less tiring!
Allison gets great satisfaction from knowing that the St Andrews range of products has been so successful and that Ant is kept on track by 2 wonderful women while she is away at work.
Allison is always experimenting and loves to share ideas:
Quick Lime – 3 easy tips for delicious results
1. Make a cream of ricotta cheese and SAL Lime Curd and dollop over fresh or baked fruit.
2.Put teaspoons of SAL Lime Curd (or Saffron Lime Curd) into ready prepared sweet pastry cases. Sift with icing sugar.
3. Mix SAL Lime Curd and Lime & Passionfruit Crush together and serve over baked or grilled peaches, with a dollop of vanilla icecream on the side.

Harvest Season March - August
The crop has been harvested. 90% of our limes are either squeezed, preserved or cooked into one of our delicious recipes.
The crop was excellent, and of great quality.
As the limes turn yellow the brix, or sugar level rises.
So the last 10% are left to be picked later, after turning yellow when they have more juice and are a bit sweeter than those harvested earlier. Whether the lime is green or yellow on the outside, the flesh is always green, whereas a lemon's flesh is yellow with pips.
Limes have no pips which makes processing easier but means that you can’t grow them from seed.
Ant Williams is undeniably New Zealand’s most knowledgeable lime grower.

New season's Lime Juice - pure & unfiltered
The 1 litre bottles are selling well.
We regret we no longer have the 330ml size, owing to a 'mechanical failure'. It is very disappointing as
we think the juice looks more attractive in glass bottles.
